Retired Detective Chief Inspector
Dean spent 8 years in the Royal Navy before leaving in 1986 and joining Derbyshire Constabulary, where he spent the next 25 years.
As Detective Chief Inspector, Dean worked on several high-profile cases, but perhaps the most notable was that of serial killer Andrew Dawson, who murdered three people between 1982 and 2010. Dean was the Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) for that case.
Since retiring from the police in 2011, Dean has emigrated to the Canadian province of Nova Scotia where, despite initially only working a couple of days a week, he now earns a full-time living as a High Sheriff. He is responsible for the counties of Colchester, Cumberland and East Hants.
Investigative Historian / Author / Journalist
With a background as a print, TV and online reporter and producer, Tony approaches history from an investigative angle. He looks into the past to uncover the truth about seemingly unsolvable mysteries. His job is to distinguish fact from fiction - history from mystery.
Tony has been a BBC news producer, an award-shortlisted author, print journalist, historian, on-screen TV expert, documentary producer, and communications consultant to government clients on terrorism and other social harms.
He also regularly pops up on history and science documentaries broadcast on History, Discovery, Channel 5, Curiosity, ITV and other channels around the word.
True Crime Podcaster
Wendy is one half of the award-winning true crime podcast 'Foul Play: Crime Series'. Her co-host, Shane, brings a towering American presence reminiscent of a friendly giant, with Wendy offering a beacon of English charm. Together, they form quite the dynamic duo.
Former Senior Investigating Officer
Colin spent the last nine years of his three-decade-long police career as a Senior Investigating Officer for the Met Police’s Murder Squad. During that time, he and his team caught serial murderer Levi Bellfield and serial rapist Delroy Grant.
British TV drama 'Manhunt' was based on those two high-profile investigations, with Martin Clunes starring as Colin.
Podcast Host
Kacey is the creator and host of the award-nominated podcast 'The Cult Vault', and since the show's launch in May 2020, she has put a great deal of work into bringing the acts of cults and high-control groups to the masses.
The podcast originally only featured deep-dive episodes into infamous cults such as The Peoples Temple, The Manson Family and The Unification Church, but Kacey quickly realised that the best way to learn about how people get sucked into these groups was through interviews.
The Cult Vault now includes long-form interview episodes with cult survivors and experts, aiming to keep the focus on the survivors' point of view.
Author / Filmmaker / Investigative Journalist
Tim is a best-selling author, multiple award-winning documentary filmmaker and investigative journalist. He has published nineteen non-fiction books, made more than 80 documentary films for all British and several international networks, and written for national and regional newspapers.
True Crime Writer / Researcher / Analyst
Sarah is a true crime writer, researcher and analyst, who previously served in the Foreign Office. Born in South Wales and educated at Monmouth, she graduated with a Master of Arts Honours degree in English and German from Somerville College, Oxford. She has a fascination with genealogy and the Whitechapel Murders.
